Fergie wants to set record straight after 6-1 'suicide' last season

The Scot has praised his players for their focus and team spirit this season and says he has never watched a repeat of his side's infamous defeat to their rivals from 2011

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says losing the Premier League title to rivals Manchester City has motivated his players to improve as he prepares to welcome Roberto Mancini's men to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils go into the game 15 points ahead of the reigning champions and Ferguson has praised his players for the way they have responded to the disappointment of missing out on the title on the final day of last season.

that 6-1 was a once off.
it wont happen again while SAF is still at united.

much like the 5-1 drumming Barca gave Madrid years ago.

boy did mancity teach manu a lesson that day and even won the title.

wonder if manu can ever beat mancity with a 5 goal difference

The scoreline was a little harsh that day and it didn't reflect the game. So I wouldn't call it a lesson. @KingPin I also wouldn't compare it to the 5-0 Barcelona win over madrid where Barca controlled the whole game and deserved the that result.

People always forget that we only had ten men for 70 minutes. and 3 of the goals were scored after 90m when we completely switched off.

People go on as if City battered us throughout the match and it's just not true, with 10 men we attacked and even scored but we kept getting caught on the counter attack.

As for teaching us a lesson City will have to do to us what we did to Liverpool to even be though of as successful and win 18 more league titles.

The day SAF retires is the day manU will start to decline.

So you think that we won't get a world class manager and you don't think he will be supported by the board??

We'll miss him but we will be fine.

There is a reason you united is what it is today and you owe it to that man.
