Wayne Rooney backed to break record

The England international brought up a double-century of goals for the club in the 4-2 Champions League win over Bayer Leverkusen, and took his tally to 202 with a free-kick in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

He is now only nine goals behind Jack Rowley, who struck 211 times for United either side of World War II, with just Denis Law (237) and Sir Bobby Charlton (249) ahead of him.

The story is too old to be commented.

another 50 to go. would be nice to see him break the united record.

speaking of records...
which player has the most goals scored in a calendar year and which year was it in?
