I'm sorry man but the only player better than Mata at Chelsea is Hazard. Mourinho ruined Mata and then people compared him with Oscar, Willian et al. Mata last year was a beast, will be interesting to see how he does for Utd, personally I'm backing him to outperform Oscar. (Not to say Oscar isn't a great player, he is and he's still very young so could surpass Mata- I just don't think he's a better player than Mata yet. Obviously on current form he is but I put that down to Mourinho's dislike for Mata)
In a vacuum, Mata is a better player than Oscar (as of now, but Oscar has huge potential). The problem is that Mata doesn't fit into Jose's ideal team. Oscar does everything Mata couldn't. He tracks back, defends, tackles, does all sorts of defensive duties (on top of being an excellent attacking mid). Mata doesn't have the stamina and/or athleticism that Oscar possesses. The stoke game, for example, the entire team was pressing stoke like crazy. When chelsea attacked, they sent a lot of men forward, and when they had to defend, all those players tracked back and defended. Mata could not fit in this system unfortunately. It's a damn shame to see him leave, but I would rather see Juan play for another team than rot on the bench.
