Qatar World Cup 2022: Fifa vice-president 'would support' re-vote

Fifa vice-president Jim Boyce says he would support a re-vote to find a new host for the Qatar World Cup in 2022 if corruption allegations can be proven.

The story is too old to be commented.

Well its time for FIFA to grow a spine and do something about it- wishful thinking I suppose...

Linwelin3608d ago

grow a spine and do something about it ? do you mean like not accept bribes in the first place, because that's how you sort it :)

As far as I can tell, do you honestly expect FIFA to bring morality in this, when all they care about is being cheated by people with more money then them?

There have been more then 200 men dead "or should I say slaves" building that stadium and it's being hosted in a country that lacks basic human rights and is in political turmoil! Freedom of expression is practically outlawed and western women going there are not aloud to wear shorts or revealing clothing so I don't know how that would work out for the many western tourists...lol

Don't even get me started on Gang infested, police corrupted, Brazil!

FRAKISTAN3608d ago (Edited 3608d ago )

shut your filthy lies you idiot, Qatar is not in political turmoil or lacks human rights it is one of the richest countries in the world and the earning per capita is one of the highest in the world, you are just jealous and spiteful because it's an arab country and everyone loves to bash arabs except for the apartheid and illegitimate state of israel.

if you want to look at political turmoil and poverty look at the country where it is being hosted right now, the stadiums even don't have seats with less than 10 days left to go for the world cup, construction of roads/stadiums and utilities are still happening.since you care so much about the so called "slaves" in Qatar do you even know or care about the poor people of Brazil?do you even know and care about the daily protests where thousands of men and women participate demanding that all the money their broke government is spending on the world cup should be spent on the people of that land.

no you wouldn't care because you are a bigot and a hater just like all the rest of the people who don;t know shit and think there is slavery in Qatar.

BITCH do you even know the minimum wage in qatar is $219!!!!!!!while its being demanded to be raised to $320!!!!!!!!!!!! what's the minimum wage in your country?

EDIT: Just to tell your uninformed ass, that each and every country in the world has it's rules on what people can wear and not wear.Qatar is a Muslim country so why do you expect women to wear shorts in Qatar? or do you watch the world cup just for that kind of objectification

johny53608d ago (Edited 3608d ago )

I'm reporting you for your weak personal attack and offensive language!

Gees, if your going to construct a hate speech to me the least you can do is make coherent sense of the so called facts you just stated?

By the way, the minimum wage in Qatar is $219 "a month", lol The USA has a average minimum wage of over $7, if a person worked 40 hours "under 2 days" he would make ($290), in one month, that's ($900), if someone worked full time it would be ($1100) a month and Seattle just raised the minimum wage to $15 an hour so...

My state has a minimum wage of over $9 an hour by the way!

Stringerbell3608d ago (Edited 3608d ago )

I'm sorry but the wealth of your country is irrelevant wait actually it isn't because if the corruption charges are true...

Now that being said bedsides the social issues such as the human rights of foreign workers (which is not a lie), the constraints that will be put on all women visiting the nation, lets talk about the football aspect.

I've said this before but if FIFA wanted a WC in the Middle East the obvious choice was Turkey. Their national team is decent, they have a strong domestic league, solid infrastructure and the weather is not insanely hot like in Qatar. Their govt is not perfect but women wont be required to cover up, fans will be able to enjoy a drink without obtaining a silly license and the location of Turkey is quite central. Just my two cents oh and please keep your posts civil no need for the name calling.
