Indeed he would be. Back then players were loyal to the club. As for transfers, the club was first and location was second (a distant one at that). Managers were allowed to implement a philosophy, their own. Not the owner's and certainly not the chairman's. Of course I wasn't around for any of that, so I'll just step off my soapbox now... /end rant
