Back in July of 2013, Stuttgart Kickers striker Daniel Engelbrecht collapsed on the pitch during a game against Rot-Weiss Erfurt in the German third division and had to be given emergency resuscitation to keep him alive.
Having been rushed to hospital, a subsequent medical examination showed the 24-year-old had been suffering from an inflamed heart muscle as well as an abnormal heart rhythm.
A little over 16 months on down the line and Engelbrecht has made a full return to the game, thanks largely to an automatic defibrillator implanted into his chest.
Playing with an anti defibrillator in his chest, he's taking a huge gamble with his life.
