well done liverpool, very good performance

windblowsagain3349d ago

I wouldn't say that was a very good performance. I think it's more down to the fact that Southampton were woeful in front of goal.

Either way thanks Liverpool.

Arsenal Nicely into 3rd:)

City will win the league right at the end. Mark my words.

If I were you, I'd be more worried about Liverpool's form and by them taking your position in the table come May.

When Man City easily beat Liverpool on Sunday, it'll probably seem less of a worry.

Liverpool have improved but they still don't look like they will really worry top 3.

Ultimately they still have to go away to City, Arsenal and Chelsea. The only home game they have against the current top 4 is versus Manchester United.

Aye, I think you need to check your fixtures there again. Liverpool already played City away at the start of the season. And you're making a lot of assumptions. Liverpool are the form team in the league. You're talking like they've no chance of beating any of the current top 4, when they just beat a current top 4 side in the last game, and with United playing like a pub team and getting extremely lucky in most of their games, they're bound to come a cropper sooner or later as the weekend showed. If they lose to Newcastle, they are in a spot of bother, I'd say. An in form Liverpool against that rabble should put 3 past them at least on any given day. They are not the team they were at the start of the season now that they've got a system that works and their strikers back and on form.

Meh, I made a mistake about the City fixture because I was thinking of the Barcelona one at the time, but don't worry, the result will end up the same. Liverpool have to travel back from Turkey on Thursday night to play Sunday lunchtime, days after City are recovering at home from their European game.

Liverpool are not going to be a threat to the top 3, they'll end up getting distracted just the same in European fixtures and the FA cup to boot.

Liverpool are going to have to beat City, and Arsenal, and United to get up there. It just isn't going to happen.

I watched this Southampton game and mused about how fortunate they seemed to be, lots of critical decisions going their way, outplayed just the same, needing a wunder goal to cling onto, and counter attacks to score a second later on. You can imagine how different the game would have been should Southampton been justly awarded at least one early penalty and scored it.

It's a serious exaggeration to think Liverpool were particularly good. An ugly a win as Manchester United have lived on this season, who funnily enough actually played quite well against Swansea but ended up mugged! The irony.

Here, I thought Liverpool were supposed to lose that game against City? Arsenal are dropping points later, and the shite half of Manchester are going to drop some against Newcastle in mid week.

Another clean sheet from Mignolet.
