Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres says that coach Diego Simeone signing a new contract is key for the future of the club.
It was confirmed on Tuesday that the Argentine has committed himself to the Rojiblancos until 2020, ending speculation linking the former midfield ace with the likes of Manchester City.
Torres only rejoined Atletico during the winter break but he is enthused by the news, given Simeone is the man responsible for leading the club to five trophies since succeeding Gregorio Manzano at the helm in December 2011.
