Premier League high-flyers West Ham are hoping to confirm their growth by swooping for Liverpool's Jordan Henderson and Newcastle United's Georginio Wijnaldum for a combined £40 million, according to the Brentwood Gazette.
I'm torn. Obviously, Hendo is a decent PL midfielder. But LFC needs more than just "decent" if they want to go up again. They need to buy actual top players and not "decent players with top transfer fees".(That's a good way to go bankrupt.)
I've said it before and I still stand by it after all these years - Henderson is just not good enough to be consistently starting for LFC, much less be Captain. Maybe for a LFC team that wants to stay midtable, sure. But for a LFC with higher ambitions, he's just not good enough.
