i have a feeling AM could've won had they kept the pressure on after equalizing instead of playing for penalties. RM defense was struggling to contain them. AM kept getting crosses into the box.
oblak needs to learn how to save penalties too. what a poor performance from him during the penalties. i mean, if you going to dive, do it 100% even if you going the wrong way. even the time he guessed right on marcelos penalty, he put his arm out way too late. had he dived 100% from the start, he wouldve stood a greater chance of saving it
The game was very tense throughout, no surprise when you think about it. Atleti has a great recent record against Madrid whilst playing the way they do and Zidane has changed the team's tactics since his 1st El Derby. It wasn't going to be a classic or a goal spectacle.
Half of Real's stars had a top game and the other half having shockers. Atleti won the 2nd half but didn't make enough of it in the end. Real obviously had the 1st half and I'd give the both halves of extra time too.
Experienced heads won the day (besides the clown Pepe), Atleti will bounce back, they'll win this competition in the coming years no doubt.
