some great players were lucky to have a great team around them which helped them get to that great stature.
i mean, take nothing away from brazilian ronaldo, but if he was in portugal i dont think he would have accomplished half of what he did on the world stage. (being world cup all time top scorer until 2014).
if ronaldo or messi were with strong teams like that, and winning big trophies at club and international level, im sure we would all agree without doubt that both of them are above pele and maradona. sadly because they cant do it with the squads they have because both are mediocre by world standards, there is always going to be that debate. however, with portugal winning the euros, whether by luck or because they deserve it, ronaldos name is up there with the best of them regardless.
if only ronaldo was a german...no doubt he would've won everything by now for club and country.
