Valencia midfielder Ever Banega is eager for Liverpool to swoop for his signature, according to Las Provincias.
Banega, 22, had been linked with a switch to Anfield as a replacement for Inter and Barcelona target Javier Mascherano. Despite initially struggling at the Mestalla since his switch from Boca Juniors in 2008, he was in impressive form last season and was believed to have been targeted by ex-manager Rafael Benitez.
