Hoffenheim recorded an impressive victory over Schalke on a fine night in Sinsheim. Isaac Vorsah scored for the hosts in the first half and Sejad Salihovic doubled the advantage with a free-kick in injury time to help Hoffe to their third victory of the season.
The game started brightly for the visitors who had a chance to open the scoring as early as the third minute when Raul's header from inside the penalty area flew narrowly wide of the right post. Vedad Ibisevic had an opportunity to score four minutes later, but was stopped by Christoph Metzelder in the penalty box amidst suspicions of a punishable offence by the defender.
