Under pressure Koeln boss Zvonomir Soldo saw his side record a much needed Bundesliga victory as they secured a 1-0 win in the Rhein-Energie Arena at home to St. Pauli.
With rumours in the local press that Koeln's two successive defeats to start the season had left Soldo on the brink of the sack, a much changed home side executed their gameplan perfectly with tight defence and efficient organisation.
