Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted that Michael Owen is still getting better as a player, despite never establishing himself as a regular at Old Trafford.
The former England striker headed a late equaliser against Bolton Wanderers at the weekend, and his club boss feels that the player still has much to offer, even though 24 of his 37 appearances for United have come as a substitute.
"He’s an outstanding footballer and I think he’s improved since he’s come to our club," Ferguson told reporters.
