Euro 2012 Group H Qualifying Preview: Portugal To Face Iceland, Denmark Will Welcome Cyprus

Iceland – Portugal

Portugal gained some much-needed momentum in their qualifying campaign as they defeated Denmark 3-1 in Porto on Friday evening, and the Seleccao are aiming to earn another three points against Iceland.

Paulo Bento took to the national team dugout for the first time at the weekend and watched on as a couple of goals from Nani and a contribution from Cristiano Ronaldo helped secure a 3-1 success over the Danes.

Icelandic football is at a tricky time too. Bottom of the table, Olafur Johannesson’s side have yet to pick up a point, having suffered defeats at the hands of Norway and Denmark. Both losses have come about in frustrating circumstances, with the Icelanders throwing away a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 against the Norwegians and then ceding a goal in stoppage time to go down against the Danes.

Important matches for both teams (Denmark and Portugal). If They loose today I think they are out of Euro 2012. Maybe this is the stronges group.
