Euro 2012: Serbia FA To Ask For Replay Of Suspended Italy Qualifier

The Serbia FA will ask about the possibility of replaying the suspended Euro 2012 qualifier, due to the actions of their fans, versus Italy.

The match was originally delayed due to crowd trouble caused by the Serbian supporters at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa, before being abandoned all together after just six minutes of action.

"On October 18 we will meet with UEFA president Michel Platini and the members of the board and ask them for the match to be replayed," claimed Serbia FA president Tomislav Karadzic during a press conference.

There were suggestions that the three points would go to the Azzurri and they would be awarded a 3-0 victory in the Group C standings, but all will have to wait for an official decision from UEFA.

The story is too old to be commented.
