Ashley Cole has admitted he thought he needed to leave Chelsea and England earlier in his career, before Carlo Ancelotti convinced him to stay in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old was closely linked with a move to Real Madrid over the summer, with Madrid boss Jose Mourinho reportedly keen to sign the player he brought to Stamford Bridge.
Cole has revealed the thought of leaving had crossed his mind, but was never likely after meetings with Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti.
