DALLAS -- FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman has been picked as the Major League Soccer coach of the year.
MLS announced the honor Thursday. Hyndman led FC Dallas to a 19-game unbeaten streak and the team's first postseason berth since 2007.
FC Dallas finished the season 12-4-14. On Sunday, the team plays the Los Angeles Galaxy in the Western Conference championship.
Hyndman coached at SMU for 24 years before joining FC Dallas as coach in mid-2008.
