Solskjaer aims to follow Fergie's lead

ad of his exit from Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed how close he was to departing Old Trafford for Tottenham in 1998.

The striker was set to join Spurs after the two clubs had agreed a fee, and Solskjaer still has the fax that proves how near he was to quitting the Red Devils.

On it are two signatures. The first is from then Manchester United chief executive Martin Edwards, the second from Sir Alan Sugar, then Tottenham chairman.
