Florent Malouda Hopes France Can Beat England

Florent Malouda says France's friendly match against England will give les Bleus a chance to show how far they have come since the poor 2010 World Cup campaign.

The 1998 World Cup winners failed to get out of the group stage, and sent Chelsea team-mate Nicolas Anelka home after a bust-up with then-France boss Raymond Domenech.

"There are lots of games coming up in the Premier League but when you play England at Wembley, it is a big moment," Malouda told Association Press. "A good performance and good result will be good for our confidence and provide a reference point to show exactly where we are as a team.

GJ234908d ago

England were dissapointing. France were humiliated. The whole country will want them to prove they can beat a big team. A win would rebuild their ego

GJ234908d ago

I dont think they have quite recovered from the world cup yet. They need their best players back as well

kulka4908d ago

yup they also need new players who want to play France the world cup squad was rightly banned embarrased the whole country

GJ234908d ago

I believe that with the right manager they would have done well. Domenech ruined their morale and team spirit.

kulka4908d ago

yup he is an idiot why did they chose him for the job or why did they not sack him before the tournament they had great squad
