Chelsea are believed to be pondering over making a move for Benfica's £25 million rated defender David Luiz in January.
The recent injury to John Terry saw the skipper concede that he could be out for "months", while Alex could be out for up to eight weeks. With Branislav Ivanovic only one yellow card away from picking up a suspension, the choices are diminishing for manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Now The Mirror reports that the Blues are eyeing a January move for Luiz due to the current defensive problems.
However, Ancelotti will have to make do with Jeffrey Bruma and Paulo Ferreira until the New Year, if and when Ivanovic is suspended.
They dont need him. How many players do they need in the squad?
