Werder Bremen striker Hugo Almeida received a three-match ban from the German football federation following his weekend red card against St Pauli - against whom he scored a hattrick in a 3-0 win.
Almeida, 26, was dismissed ten minutes from time for elbowing St. Pauli's Carlos Zambrano in full view of the referee.
