It’s first against second in Lisbon on Wednesday evening as Sporting host a Lille side who are hoping to replicate last season’s achievement of progressing through to the knockout stages of the Europa League.
Sporting have been formidable opponents when competing at home in European competition this season, earning themselves two hugely emphatic wins over both Gent and Levski Sofia. However, they are not impenetrable, as they surprisingly lost to the Belgians on their travels in the last round of fixtures and have therefore yet to book their place in the next round.
