General Charles Krulak admits he was confused by Gerard Houllier's comments at Anfield, and refused to make excuses for the Aston Villa boss.
Houllier enraged the Midlands club's supporters with words in the wake of Monday's 3-0 humbling at his former club Liverpool.
And while the Frenchman has attempted to clarify those remarks, there has been a noted lack of an apology.
