Goal of the week or a popularity contest?
Debate raged in the comments over last week's goal of the week vote. Many Goal.com readers pointed fingers at each other claiming favouritism, rather than artistry, motivated how the vote swung.
Ahmed, from the UAE, represented many in his observation. "This is getting silly to be honest. Just because Messi or Ronaldo's names are on the list, they immediately get a majority of the votes? Not taking away the fact that their goals were amazing this week (again!), but sorry Jonnie Hayes and Eren Zahavi's goals were better."
