FIFPro, the international players' union, have declared their support for the concept of holding the 2022 World Cup in January, rather than June and July.
The tournament, due to be held in Qatar, was destined to face heat problems with the Qatari summer often hitting temperatures of 50 degrees centigrade, heats that most players will never have experienced.
