Manchester United starlet Federico Macheda is close to joining Serie A club Sampdoria, his agent revealed on Monday.
The 19-year-old striker looks set to return to his homeland for six months to play with Domenico di Carlo's side, overlooking the advances of fellow English Premier League clubs West Brom and Everton in the process.
