Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he tried to sign Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure as a youngster, but missed out because of red tape.
The club tried to sign the former Barcelona midfielder as a youth prospect after he impressed during a trial period, but the player was too young to be granted a European passport and eventually moved to Ukraine from Belgian club Beveren, who had a link-up with the Premier League side at the time.
