Landon Donovan has been honored as the U.S. player of the year for a record seventh time by Futbol de Primera.
Donovan, whose stoppage-time goal against Algeria sent the Americans into the second round at the World Cup in South Africa, won the award for the fourth straight year Wednesday. He is the first person to win it seven times.
