Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has admitted that he didn't expect to win the FIFA Ballon d'Or on Monday.
Messi was voted the best player in the world in 2010 ahead of his Blaugrana team-mates Xavi and Andres Iniesta.
Messi had a phenomenal last twelve months in which he led Barca to a Spanish Primera Division triumph and has been widely acknowledged as the finest player in the world.
