Rovers' scouts have been to Spain to run the rule over the forward and have been convinced to make a move for the starlet, who is part of the Barcelona B side managed by former player Luis Enrique.
Barca are now reporting that Rovers have made an enquiry about Rochina but have yet to make a firm offer for the services of the 19-year-old, who started his career at Valencia before moving to Barcelona aged 13.
