Chelsea are expected to renew their efforts to sign Benfica defender David Luiz on Thursday after being told that Borussia Dortmund's Neven Subotic is going nowhere in January.
The Blues are desperate to sign a central defender this month and have approached Dortmund over a deal for Serbia defender Subotic – only to be told that he will not be leaving the German club at any price.
