Chelsea are in discussions with local rivals Fulham to send winger Gaël Kakuta on loan and are also set to allow defender Jeffrey Bruma to leave until the end of the season.
Fulham’s interest in Kakuta — who is also wanted by three clubs in his native France — would suggest they are not confident of landing Manchester City’s Shaun Wright-Phillips despite making a £4 million bid this week.
