FIFA opens match-fixing probe

FIFA says it is investigating the possibility of match-fixing at an international doubleheader played in neutral Turkey.

Suspicions of a betting scam were raised because all seven goals in the Estonia-Bulgaria and Latvia-Bolivia friendlies last week were scored on penalty shots.

FIFA says it has asked for match reports from each of the national federations.

The probe is expected to focus on an agency that arranged the back-to-back games in Antalya and the Hungarian match officials.

Bolivian officials have canceled a scheduled return visit to Turkey next month for matches against Finland and Bulgaria.

The story is too old to be commented.
