Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has insisted he has been spurred on to prolong his Anfield playing days by the reality that he is heading in to the 'veteran' stage of his career.
Carragher, 33, has battled back from a shoulder injury to prove his body can still stand up to the rigours of Premier League football and he has returned to a Reds side enjoying a much better run of form than the one he left under Roy Hodgson at the end of November.
