There weren't too much goals to be seen in this week's Champions League games, but it was rather remarkable to see that all but one of the goals were scored by a French player. Nicolas Anelka netted a brace for Chelsea on Tuesday, while Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) and Bafetimbi Gomis (Olympique Lyonnais) both scored once. Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez then 'ruined' the French party on Wednesay with his late goal against Inter.
I hate this kind of attitude. Football is about good defending and passing as much as it is about goals. This kind of attitude is what makes people impatient about football.
I'd be more interested to know which country has the most winners.
One thing that stands out. With French players scoring the most, you would have at least expected them to do better at the world cup.
