I highly doubt LFC would offer that much for a player. Just because Andy Carroll was bought for 35 mil doesn't mean the owners are gonna carelessly do it for every player, like Man City.
Carroll was bought out of urgent necessity created by Torres' transfer request with only a couple of days left in the window. And it was a January window - A time when all players are usually overpriced if you want to buy them.
Personally, I'd rather have either Arda Turan or Marko Marin. From what I've seen, both of them are better "team players" than Sanchez.
When news about Torres' transfer request first emerged, there was about 3 days left in the window. The club declined his request within 24 hours. But do you honestly think that, given his poor form and constant sulking on the pitch, the club was gonna take a chance with him desperately wanting out? From what I know, Newcastle first rejected a £25mil bid from LFC. And I bet there were at least a couple more bids made between that and the final value.
