Chelsea forward Fernando Torres shrugged off his latest goalless outing for the Blues, despite extending his drought to six matches.
Torres played the final quarter of Wednesday night's Champions League last-16 second leg against FC Copenhagen after starting on the bench at Stamford Bridge.
But, despite his team-mates appearing keen to tee him up for his first goal since his record-breaking £50million move from Liverpool, the Spaniard once again drew a blank.
Torres was forced to watch his team-mates squander a dozen gilt-edged chances before entering the fray, after which he had only one real opportunity to break his duck.
"It was a good game for us with a lot of chances," Torres told his club's official website.
It is amazing that he hasn't scored yet....
His movement and pace is really good,he's been really unlucky in front of the goal !
Anelka is Torres's ideal partner.
I didn't see the game against Copenhagen but I heard that the rest of the team were trying to set him up for a goal which is good to hear. That elusive first goal will come, perhaps when we least expect it!
Besides as long as we keep on winning, whats the problem?
With each game that goes by with torres not scoring he is just showing what a waste of 50mil looks like. i said it before, il say it again. For 50mil, a player should score on his debut. 1 goal atleast. if not that, atleast score within the first 3 games. he has done neither, so to prove he is worthy of that price, he better start scoring more than 30 goals a season from next season.
