Eredivisie powerhouse Ajax are considering making a move for experienced Hamburg defender Joris Mathijsen, Sport1 reports.
The Amsterdam side are in the market for a new centre-back because of the possible departure of Jan Vertonghen, who has been linked with a move the Premier League, and they reportedly see the 31-year-old Mathijsen as the perfect replacement.
