Japanese footballer receives fastest red card ever after just five seconds

There has been a flurry of early goals in the Premier League this week, but it seems the Japanese have found a novel way of bucking the trend – get sent off instead.

The Grampus defender comically let a back pass from the centre circle ghost through him almost as easily as the S-Pulse striker, who was then through on goal. Masukawa hauled down the speedy forward and duly received his marching orders from the ref in record time.

The story is too old to be commented.

It's called a professional foul when you foul in order to prevent a clear goal scoring opportunity. So yes it's a red card.

I made an account just to say look at the goalkeeper (not the guy who got the red card) in the video, he slides right into the guys face! Ouch.
