Jordan Henderson may become a Liverpool player before he departs for the European Under-21 Championship providing the club raise their offer for the Sunderland midfielder towards £20m.
Sunderland and Liverpool officials opened talks last week and there is acceptance at the Stadium of Light that the 20-year-old will leave if the £20m valuation Steve Bruce, the manager, has placed on the midfielder is met.
20mil is way too much. more like 10.
noooooooooo... why are you doing this to us!!
Mata is £20m-£25m and he's three times better than this kid. Why is Liverpool always getting bullied on transfer deals?
£6m for Poulsen (worth less than £10k)
£4m for Konchesky (------ditto------)
£17m for Aquilani (was 95% injured and wanted to stay in Italy)
£35m for Carroll (shouldn't have been more than £15m)
Now this? Plus, I heard Downing for £17m. WTF! He's already 27 and there's a very good reason why 'big clubs' never went for him.
Agree that £20 mil is steep for Henderson but the deal is supposed to be structured that its £13-15 mil plus N'Gog who is valued at between £5-7 mil. I have high hopes for him and think that English players will always have £5-10 mil add on because they are English.
Downing story am very dubious about as he doesn't fit the FSG transfer policy as he is over 23. I know that seems like a weak point but they only want to bring in up and coming players.
