It is far from uncommon for one club to be at the centre of attention during any given transfer window. In Spain, every man and his dog tends to be linked to Real Madrid – though, in fairness, they do normally end up signing everyone but the dog – while in England it’s Tottenham who seem to be automatically associated with anyone who becomes available.
