Poor. Very poor. It's not just the technical qualities, the overall mentality of the team is just embarrassing. I don't care if the players are 2nd-string, and I most certainly don't care if it's pre-season. If you earn as much as most of them do, you'd better be ready to walk on f**king water to wear the team shirt.
I agree the performance was shocking The back 4 was not even organized. The moment I read that Kyrgiakos was the captain I knew the team is going to lose. Kelly, Robinson, Flanagan are fantastic defenders for their age but need more time to develop and need Carragher, Agger, Reina giving them help on the pitch.
Degen, Poulsen and Insua in midfield? Yeah right. That isn't even 2nd-string. The academy can do 10x better than they can, what a waste of space. Poor Carroll, surrounded with such poor display. No one giving him proper passes. Joe Cole looks frustrated again, and doesn't look like he enjoys playing.
As Kenny hinted, he wanted to rest up the main boys for Monday's game in Norway. If we don't get a good performance then I'd be disappointed.
take carragher out of the team and liverpools defence is just average, dont know what happend to skrtel and agger because they looked good under benitez. liverpool still need a defender to replace carragher if he's injured or rested because Kyrgiakos is not that player.
I'm not a Liverpool fan, but I think Kenny is testing the water, but he better test it quick before the season kick off, if the team keep loosing, the team's spirit would just go down and things would get nasty if that happen. But gotta say that is awful defending, I wonder why they keep investing in midfield why not buy a defender get Samba or someone would do lol
