The Portuguese Football Referees Association (APAF) has announced that referee Joao Ferreira has refused to officiate Sunday's league match between Beira-Mar and Sporting Lisbon.
The decision comes just hours after Sporting called a news conference to strongly criticise the way officials have acted in the club's matches and announce suggestions to improve refereeing in the country.
