Fabregas: We never had a team like Manchester United or Chelsea

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has expressed his sadness at leaving Arsenal without having won a Premier League title, and feels the chopping and changing at the Emirates was the reason why they failed to keep up with their rivals.

Fabregas's only trophy with the Gunners came back in 2005, when they beat Manchester United to win the FA Cup, but the Spanish midfielder conceded that the Red Devils, along with Chelsea, raced ahead of Arsene Wenger's team after that defeat due to having a spine of players that remained largely unchanged.

The story is too old to be commented.

B.S if he hadn't left and nasri had stayed arsenal would be very competitive this season, and they still are all thanks to RVP

I agree with him he was there the last few years and they couldn't win the league what would have made the difference this season Mertesacker? Gimme a break every time needs that spine of players to gel and become a team City are doing it slowly and becoming a force, United have been doing it for years and been the force and Chelsea did it for a few years but the constant chopping and changing of managers has changed that.

Arsenals problem is everytime a player hits around 24-25 they sell them for profit and thats been the problem for many years now. They are a feeder club nowadays who have been living off stealing players as youngsters with money and promises like they did with Fabregas.

You're really accusing Arsenal of stealing players? Hmm lets see Nasri, Clichy, Kolo Toure, Adebayor... Wonder where City got them from?

And anyway besides transfers with players like Ramsey, Szczesny, Wilshere, Walcott etc getting better and better and with the form VP's in... Things could've been much different had he and Nasri stayed

Erm theres a massive differnce between stealing promising youngsters and buying established players and using the lure of actual trophies (something Arsenal can't give) to get players. Players want trophys but youngsters want money and Arsenal been accused of sly buys more times than any other team in the world. It's not me accusing them its the rest of the world mate.

KonohagakureFC4519d ago

Dude what the heck are you talking about? Every club trues to buy the best young talent so they can nuture them into great players... What sly buys exactly? Nobody forced anyone to sign and Arswnal are infamously known for not giving players high amounts of wages ( unlike certain other teams)

Arsenal didn't break any rules signing any of these young players and any team in England could have purchased them if they wanted to.

Cesc is an amazing player, I'm glad he left Arsenal and joined Barcelona. There are no "ifs" or "buts" in that regard, there are many teams who are downright inconsistent and I think Arsenal is one of them.

Hey Cesc, now don't do this.
