As a Benfica fan, im proud. We scored a goal there, and had several oportunities. Maxi Pereiras red card was unfair, the referee gave more cards for protests than actual fouls.
I just wish the referees werent such a BS. If a penalty was given home, like it was supposed to, the outcome would have been totally different.
Im glad Benfica showed that its a fantastic team and shouldnt be overwelmed. Chelsea needs to show more if they want to face barca though.
benfica were the better team tonight but they didnt score first which they probably deserved to do. its not a good omen for the barca match because benfica dominated possession on chelsea's own ground. but still im glad chelsea did win so we can see how they compare to barca.
I'm a Chelsea fan but Benfica were definitely the better team tonight. The way they were playing with 11 men, it definitely looked like they would score a couple. I think the team was just comfortable having the 2-0 agg lead and didn't really get out of second gear until the last five mins.
It'll be a different story against Barca though. I'm not saying we're going to dominate but I expect Chelsea to be up for it, or it's going to be a long two legs.
