It is no secret that David Beckham has a position rooted in Manchester United lore.

His 10-year career for the Red Devils includes an elaborate highlight reel of fantastic moves, beautifully bent free kicks and championships.

While the English star heads toward the latter end of his career in the United States with the Los Angeles Galaxy, a lot of talk has predicted his impending retirement.

After signing a two-year extension with the Galaxy this January, it seems that by 2014, David Beckham will finally end his impressive soccer career. And he should retire with Manchester United.

The Red Devils have always prided themselves on not only an impressive record of championships, but for having a deep Youth Academy that fashions young players into football legends.

Beckham came up through this youth program, before earning an opportunity to prove himself on the first team at Old Trafford. While in the United Youth Academy, Beckham led the squad to an FA Youth Cup in 1992, generating enough excitement for his promotion.

It took until 1995 for Beckham to earn his premier league debut, but shortly after, it was apparent that he was a legend in the making.

Now, as we look back at his long career, the English star has made himself an international sensation for not just his United play, but for that of his national team.

Beckham, who remains a symbol of English soccer dominance as evidenced by his appearance in the opening ceremony of the London Olympics, should not retire in the United States.

All it takes is for Manchester United to offer him a one-day contract so the free-kick master can retire as one of the best players in Red Devil history.
