Report: Chelsea buy Fluminense fullback

We've been tracking the Wallace saga for a while here at We Ain't Got No History, and we've heard a lot of rumours about the final destination of the 18-year-old right back. Chelsea, as you may recall, hold 50 percent of the defender's rights as part of the Deco sale a few years back, so the Blues were always in pole position to acquire him should they want to. And, according to (fairly reliable) Brazilian paper Globo Esporte, that's what they've done.

However, I wouldn't buy into this just yet. There've been plenty of indications that Wallace has been sold in the past (to us, Napoli and Inter Milan) and so far none have actually come to fruition. Don't take this on trust, but if some confirmation comes out soon, well, we told you.

Even if the Blues don't land Wallace, their right back situation is looking good for the long term. Branislav Ivanovic and Cesar Azpilicueta are with the first team, while youngster Tomas Kalas has moved wide with Vitesse and is excelling in the Eredivisie.
