It has long been known that the west London club were keen to sign the highly rated young France Under-21 international at the end of the season, however, it now appears as though the Uefa Europa League holders will face to fight to land Zouma after Red Devils head coach David Moyes also expressed his desire to lure the 19-year-old to Old Trafford too.

And not only that, but the Scot wants to snap the central defender up before the winter transfer window slams shut for business for the campaign once again at the end of the month, with the added attraction of signing the player being that he will not be cup tied for this season’s Uefa Champions League.

However, there does remain one major sticking point to Moyes being successful in his pursuit of Zouma and that is that the Frenchman is understood to prefer a move to Stamford Bridge over the Theatre of Dreams, although equally the United boss is said to be confident that he can change the defender’s mind by guaranteeing first-team football in the north west.
